My birthday was last week, and my friends and family really know how to spoil a girl! This entire week was jam-packed with fun, and also Hubby and I kept working to unpack the house.
On my birthday, my husband took me to downtown KC for an amazing dinner at 801 Chophouse. Guys, this dinner was so freaking amazing. I started with a French 75 (my go-to celebratory cocktail) and it was all uphill from there. We had steak and scallops and ended it all with a Grand Marnier soufflé. We even had some entertainment with dinner while the tornado sirens went off during a thunderstorm for 20 minutes. It was all fine until the waiter came to our table to let us know where the emergency shelter was “just in case.”
Over the weekend, my parents came down to see the house, and so we could go to a KC Royals game with my brother and SIL. We tailgated before the game and celebrated Cinco de Mayo with some Coronas in the blazing hot sun. The Royals lost the game, but won the series, so it all worked out in the end.
Sunday Hubby and I took a day to unwind and relax a bit. We went to run a few errands (looking at you, Lowes!) and found a great little home-brew store close to our house. Hubby has been dying to start making beer again since he finally got all of his equipment unpacked, so we started brewing a Cream Ale that should be done in about six weeks.
That about wraps up the birthday week! We’ve had beautiful weather, which makes all of the celebratory fun even better. Cheers!
