What I Loved in May

Grilled Bangin' Shrimp
Grilled Bangin’ Shrimp

A couple of weeks ago Hubby and I made this awesome Grilled Bangin’ Shrimp from Skinnytaste for dinner. We love the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill, and this tastes so much like that! The sauce is absolutely delicious (and not too heavy!) and grilled shrimp is always a win at my house.

We went to two Kansas City Royals games this month and I cannot wait to go to more! I have so much fun every time we go to Kauffman Stadium, especially when we take the time to arrive early so we can tailgate and really make the most out of the ball game. I have yet to see them actually win in person this year, but we’re going again in June, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope that they pull out a win for us soon!

I’ve been using tons of fresh garlic in my recipes lately. Usually I used the garlic that comes in a jar, and I’ve loved that for years for its convenience, but you cannot beat the taste of fresh garlic! I’m just usually lazy and don’t want to take the time to peel and chop it, plus it makes my hands smell like garlic for daysssss. But, I’ve got this stainless steel bar from Amazon and it makes a huge difference! I just wash my hands with soap like normal, but use the steel bar with the soap and I’m amazed at how much it reduces the smell of garlic.

For my birthday, my mom got me a tube of Peony Hand Lotion from Bath and Body Works and it smells so good! It’s a really intense floral scent, which I personally love, but I know won’t be for most people. It’s great. And I love the small tube so it can fit in my purse easily.

Of course I have to mention the Shania Twain concert that I went to earlier this month. It was the best concert I’ve ever been to! I knew 90% of all the songs, and sang and danced my heart out. Seriously, I think I sat down for like 10 minutes the whole show, the rest of the time I was on my feet dancing away in my cowboy boots. If you’re a fan of hers, you have to make a point to go see her show!

Where are my La Croix fans at? I’ve been drinking this sparkling water for years, and I’m obsessed. I recently tried a new flavor, Passionfruit, and it’s now one of my favorites. I love adding a lemon wedge to tone down the sweetness and balance everything out. You should try it!

Currently Reading: I started reading Dead Letters by Caite Dolan-Leach while I was at the lake for Memorial Day and I’m really enjoying it! It’s about a girl who has moved away from home, but returns when she learns that her twin sister has died. She’s trying to figure out what happened, when she starts receiving letters from her sister. I’m about halfway through and I’m really excited to see what happens!
