Loving LatelyHey readers! This week has been rough, and it’s not even Friday! I’m still trying catch up on sleep from our trip to Vegas, which had little sleep the entire weekend. Yesterday we realized that Chloe picked up kennel cough from when we boarded her! She’s been coughing all night long. If you’ve never heard a dog cough, it’s nothing like a human cough. It’s a loud, honking noise followed by gagging. In other words, not something you can sleep through. We’ve been giving her spoonfuls of honey to soothe her throat, and we have an appointment with the vet, so hopefully we can just keep her comfortable until then. Running on little sleep means I started my coffee maker before putting everything back in place, and that resulted in coffee grounds all over my kitchen. 🤦🏻♀️ Enough with the negatives, let’s talk about what I’ve been loving lately!
I’ve never really been a gym-goer. I enjoy working out, but doing it in a public setting with everyone judging other people just isn’t really for me. So, I started working out at home to YouTube videos. I’m loving it. It’s completely free and I can do it in the comfort of my own home. The two channels I’ve been using the most are Blogilates and Yoga With Adriene. Blogilates really focuses on cardio and core work, and it basically kicks my ass every time. Yoga with Adriene, while also difficult at times, is a much slower-paced workout, and often I use this as a cool-down.
We’ve been having cooler weather here in KC, and I’m living for it. Especially after a really hot week in Vegas, I’m ready to welcome weather in the 60s and 70s. I wore a flannel shirt for the first time this week, and everything just felt right in the world. Even as I’m writing this right now, I’m wearing a sweatshirt and have the air conditioning turned off. #fallgoals
Have you guys been to the Target Dollar Spot lately? If not, go now. Like, drop everything and run to your car and drive yourself to the magical place that is Target. They have all their cute fall things in the Dollar Spot and I couldn’t help myself! I bought a blanket scarf, a coffee mug and a pad of paper. And that was me restraining myself.
This week I finally did something I said I was going to do for months. I went to Michael’s to get a few of my cross stitches professionally framed. I have this beautiful cross stitch I did earlier this year of flowers in mason jars, and it’s going to go into my family’s lake house. On a whim, I decided to get another stitch framed. This one I finished not too long ago and it says “Home Sweet Home.” I’ll be sure to post about it when I get them back later this month!
