My Perfect Fall Weekend Trip

Hubby and I have been talking about taking a fall weekend trip, and while it probably won’t happen this year, it’s fun to think about what we’d do!

We definitely want to do a road trip, mainly because it’ll be closer and cheaper, but so we can also take Chloe! I think it’d be super fun to go somewhere dog friendly that has lots of breweries nearby. I’d love to wake up, go for a hike for a couple of hours in the crisp fall air, then hit up some breweries with Chloe for some tastings.

We’re not sure where we’d go though. Denver is gorgeous and super dog friendly. There would be plenty of places to hike with our dog, and a plethora of breweries to choose from. But, it’s a little far from us for a quick drive.

Minneapolis is also on our list. It’s not too far and I bet it would be so pretty in the fall. Hubby and I both hate hot weather, so going north in the fall would definitely be up our alley. Chloe is so fluffy, I know she’d love to be somewhere cooler, too!

I’ve also heard that Milwaukee is a super cool place to go that has some craft breweries. Honestly, with small breweries popping up all over, there are so many cities that are becoming known for their beer.

What’s your ideal fall weekend trip? I’d love to hear about it!

      1. Galena is a really charming town that was 15 minutes outside of where we lived in Dubuque. Dubuque has 3 breweries and great restaurants and bars. Galena has cute bed and breakfasts wineries, distilleries, and tons of great food and hiking. My favorite thing to do is the ghost bar tour. We stayed there the night after our wedding before our honeymoon. But I really do recommend Mt Rushmore. We did a lot of hiking there and loved it.
