I’ve heard that some people aren’t really big fans of fall. I get that this season isn’t for everyone. Summer lovers are mourning the end of their favorite season, and they are longing for long, hot days filled with sunshine. So, if you are one of those people, maybe you just need to appreciate fall a little bit! Here are some things that always get me in the mood for fall; I hope they do the same for you!
Decorate your house, people! Fall is my favorite season to decorate for. I have so many decorations, that I might need to buy another box to hold them all! Get yourself a gorgeous wreath for your front door, or some cute pumpkins to put on your fireplace mantle.
I have candles lit around my house year-round, but for some reason I swear that fall-scented candles are cozier. Head over to Bath and Body Works and pick up a delicious scented candle like Pumpkin Apple or Leaves. Once you light that in your home, you’ll start to feel a little better about the cooler weather coming along.
When the seasons change, you inevitably have to change your wardrobe as well. Whether that means going shopping and picking up some cute new things, or digging out your favorite sweater from storage, this can help get you ready for fall. Friday I wore my favorite old sweater that is super cozy and has thumb holes to keep your hands warm. Today I’m wearing a new sweater that is just as comfortable, though!
Are you ready for some football? We love watching games on Saturdays and Sundays. If this doesn’t get you in the mood for fall, either you hate football or you’re just a lost cause.
Soups + Casseroles
I love making a big pot of soup to warm me up on a fall day. Fall just screams soups and casseroles to me. Comfort food is best eaten on a chilly day, preferably if has been raining. Check out my recipes for French Onion Soup and Crockpot Chili for some inspiration!
I love getting cozy under a blanket while watching a movie. It’s so nice when there is a bite in the air and I need to warm up. Often in the summer I blast the A/C just so it can be cool enough for me to do this, but in the fall, all I need to do is open my screen door.
