I’m all about having routine in my life. If I don’t, I feel out-of-control and I hate that feeling. That’s why I’m so strict with making menus, and store lists, and laying out my clothes, etc. Since Sunday is the last day of the weekend, I really love getting my life in order so I can have hopefully a stress-feel week.
Clean the House
Having a dirty house just doesn’t work for me. I feel like I can’t focus, and I’m in a worse mood. Honestly, life is just better with a clean house. So that’s why I like to do all of my cleaning on Sunday. My husband vacuums (thanks, Hubby!) and I clean bathrooms, dust and pick up around the house. It just feels so good to start the week off with a clean house!
Do the Laundry
I can’t start my week right with overflowing laundry hampers. I like having fresh clothes, and a cleaned out closet. It also opens up my options for what to wear that week!
Make a Menu
I’ve already talked about how I love making a menu each week. It’s so nice to know what I’m making for dinner, so I don’t have to worry about it when I get home from work. Plus, if I know what I’m making for dinner, I have time to get excited for it, and I usually end up actually eating what I planned. I say usually, because there have been a few
hundred times that Hubby and I have looked at the menu, shook our heads and headed over to Old Chicago.
Are you seeing my theme here? I like to get everything done for the week on Sunday so I’m not stressed out during the weekend. Having a full pantry and refrigerator makes it easier for dinners and lunches.
Lay out Clothes
I’m not a morning person. Never have been, never will be. So, when I leave for work in the morning, I need my life to be as easy as possible. That means lunch made, coffee ready to be brewed, and my clothes laid out. I started laying out my clothes all on Sunday to save even more time during the week. It only takes a few minutes to lay them out, but it saves me time instead of trying to decide what to wear each morning.
Hopefully my Sunday routine will help you save some time during your week, too!
