Halloween Movies That Aren’t Scary

Scary movies scare me. That sounds like an obvious statement, but honestly, I just can’t handle being too scared. That doesn’t mean I don’t like a good movie around Halloween, though! Here are my favorite movies to watch around the spookiest of holidays.

The Ghost & Mr. Chicken – This is a Don Knotts classic that I used to watch with my Dad. This movie is silly, spooky and super funny. Don Knotts plays a scaredy cat journalist who decides to spend the night in a haunted house.

Ghostbusters – Who you gonna call to watch this movie with you? I actually love the original, and the remake with the all-female cast, which I know is kind of controversial. Regardless of which movie you decide to watch, this movie is a really great movie to watch for Halloween!

Hocus Pocus – Okay, do I need to even talk about why this is on my list? This is a 90’s classic that I have to watch every year. If you haven’t seen it, which is basically no one on the planet, (except my Dad who watched it for the first time this year. Crazy, right!), you should just go watch it right now.

Young Frankenstein – I love this movie so much! It’s obviously and older movie, but the comedy still stands today. This movie follows the grandson of the original Dr. Frankenstein and he begins experimenting just like his grandfather.

Clue – You’ve played the board game Clue, right? Well this is a movie based on the game, which is my favorite. All the characters are invited to a house for a dinner party, but with an unexpected motive.

Charade – I’m a huge Audrey Hepburn fan and I stumbled across this old movie while I was going through a phase. It also has Cary Grant, so you know based on the cast it’ll be good. Audrey’s husband is murdered, and now a group of men are coming after her.

Murder by Death – This is another great murder dinner party movie with a hilarious undertone. The cast is full of people that you’re sure to remember, and I know you’ll love watching this movie as much as I do!
